When Families Grieve Counseling Materials Available
According to most recent data, one out of every 20 American children experiences the death of a parent before the age 15. A parent’s death is one of the most overwhelming things a child can face; but children are not the only ones that feel overwhelmed. Grieving is a family experience and, thus, the entire family needs support during this most difficult time.
Ozarks Public Television, in partnership with Lost and Found Grief Center, is providing free counseling materials to viewers as part of Sesame Workshop’s When Families Grieve initiative. The materials are designed to support families with young children between the ages of 2 and 8. Each toolkit contains a DVD featuring the Sesame Street Muppets, a children’s storybook, a guide for parents and caregivers, and a facilitator’s guide with tips on how to use the materials.
Kits will be distributed while supplies last. To request yours, please contact one of the offices below.
