The Cat in the Hat is Coming Back!
Join us for the 3rd Annual Ozarks Public Television/Mercy Kids Seuss Science Day!

Saturday, February 22nd

10 am to 4 pm

Reduced admission of $7 per person (children 2 and under get in free)

  • Dr. Seuss story times
    • Books suited for younger kids will be read in the BodyWorks Theater (3rd floor of the east Building)
      • The Sleep Book at 10 am and 1 pm
      • Green Eggs and Ham at 11 am and 2 pm
      • The Foot Book at 12 pm and 3 pm
    • Books suited for older kids will be read in the Immersion Cinema (1st floor west building)
      • I Had Trouble Getting to Solla Sollew at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm
      • If I Ran the Circus at 11:30 am and 2:30 pm
      • Yertle the Turtle at 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm
  • Science activities taking place throughout the day
    • Discovery Center exhibits open all day
    • Mercy Kids will have several activities in the Exploratory Lab (2nd floor east building)
    • Seuss science demonstrations that correspond with selected books will include:
      • The Sleep Book
        • Daytime vs. Nightime creatures
      • Green Eggs and Ham
        • Nutrition, food choices
      • The Foot Book
        • Animal tracks
      • I Had Trouble Getting to Solla Sollew
        • Problem solving—design a Rube Goldberg contraption
      • If I Ran the Circus
        • Balance
      • Yertle the Turtle
        • Turtle types, turtle vs. tortoise
  • Meet and greet with the Cat in the Hat
    • The Cat will be making appearances throughout the day, beginning at 10:15 am
    • Located in the mezzanine, 2nd floor east building
    • Ozarks Public Television will take and print pictures for you to take home
  •  “The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That” episode screenings
    • Located in the auditorium, 2nd floor east building
