Ozarks Public Television: Serving Seniors
OPT is committed to serving our senior viewers through information and education. The Greene County Senior Citizen’s Service Tax Fund provides funding for a variety of services that help meet the needs of seniors in our area, including:
The ARC of the Ozarks
Provides residential, employment, community integration, day programming and recreation services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Council of Churches – Ombudsman Program
Provides ombudsman services to all residents of all long-term care facilities through advocacy and education.
SeniorAge Area Agency on Aging
Provides programs, services and information for seniors and caregivers.
Senior centers offer friendship, fun, and practical assistance in living a healthy and independent life.
Springfield Greene County Library
Provides home book deliveries, technology classes, large-print books, and much more.
Jordan Valley Community Health Center – Dental Care
Provides dental services.
National Alliance on Mental Illness
Provides mental health services.
Springfield Greene County Health Department Shingles Vaccination Program
Provides no-cost shingles vaccinations to Greene County residents over 60 years of age.
Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Missouri
Provides services for individuals and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s, including support groups, educational sessions, online resources, and a 24-7 helpline with information and advice. (Helpline: 1-800-272-3900)
Cox Health Lifeline Medical Alert
Provides medical alert devices to aid individuals living independently.
Salvation Army Senior Lunch Program
Provides lunch for seniors each weekday at noon.
Salvation Army Food Pantry
Provides open food pantry on Wednesdays from 9:30am-3pm.
Ash Grove Food Pantry
Providing food for the hungry, as well as monthly food delivery for the elderly and disabled.
OACAC Home Care Funds
Provides funds to keep low-income seniors independent in their homes. Services range from mortgage/rent assistance to creating accessibility in the home.
United Way Hands on for Seniors
Complete outdoor home repairs and yardwork to help seniors remain independent in their homes.

Provides essential home repairs to help low-income seniors remain independent in their homes.

Legal Services of Southern Missouri
Provide legal representation for seniors on a variety of civil matters, including healthcare directives, simple wills, estate planning, guardianships, divorces, tenant issues, and consumer fraud.
Provides transportation to citizens of all ages.
Mercy Driving Rehabilitation
Provides clinic and driving assessments, customized training, and adaptive equipment to help seniors drive safer, for longer.
