Ozark Jubilee: A Living Legacy

A special tribute to the Ozark Jubilee, a groundbreaking country music television series originating live each week form Springfield, Missouri between 1955-60. Created by Si Siman and colleagues Ralph Foster, Lester Cox and John Mahaffey, and hosted by country music legend Red Foley, the Ozark Jubilee entertained approximately 25 million viewers each week. Many local performers became national stars, and many nationally well-known and up and coming entertainers performed on the program. The Ozark Jubilee is often recognized for its impact on national television, country music and the Ozarks. Ozark Jubilee, A Living Legacy, features vintage clips and photos from the series, as well as interviews with former cast members and crew. Rosie Siman, wife of Si Siman, contributes her very special and unique perspective. John Rumble, senior historian with the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and Wayne Glenn, broadcast historian, provide rich historical context and insight. Special guests include country music legends Eddy Arnold, Brenda Lee, Porter Wagoner, Billy Walker, and Leroy Van Dyke. The result is a deeply personal and historical perspective on the phenomenal Ozark Jubilee.
