Many people in the Ozarks region struggle to keep food on their table. Over 170,000 people, more than 54,000 of them children, face hunger in Ozarks Food Harvest’s service area, which covers most of southwest Missouri, according to Feeding America’s latest “Map the Meal Gap” study. Sense of Community: Food Insecurity in the Ozarks explores the unfortunate economic and access-related realities many people in the Ozarks face today from the perspectives of organizations, groups and volunteers on the frontlines.
